Aster Cardigan from Willow & Co Patterns

It seems like I never have enough cardigans in my girls’ wardrobes. They always need a cardigan for church and any time they’re a little dressed up. So when I saw this pattern, I knew I wanted to test it.

Have you seen all the fabulous things from the Willow & Co. Patterns so far? This collection is seriously awesome from some amazing pattern designers. You’ve probably already seen the Fawn Lily top I shared the other day–and they’ll all be available next week (April 22) for sale. And today I’m sharing another pattern from the collection–the Aster Cardigan. What do you think?

The three cute little flower buttons on the front keep it together while the bottom stays free. And you’ll love the method for sewing up the placket and hemming all in one step–it’s pretty slick.

This cropped cardigan with 3/4 sleeves is darling. I love the way it is so fitted. I made up the 2T for Saige because it most closely matched her chest size, but I think she’s at the top end of the size and next time I’ll make her a 3T. But I love it anyway.

The collar has a faux piping option that makes it look really smart. For this cardigan, I used more of the jersey knit from the clearanced sheet set I talked about (and used) for my baby gowns during the Nesting to Newborns series and also that I shared yesterday as a guest post over at Expressions Vinyl–that makes 2 baby gowns and now a cardigan. It’s a great color, its soft, and there’s tons left…you’ve been warned.

The only other thing I used is a piece of gray knit for the underside of the collar that peeks out for the faux piping.

Saige really likes it too. She pulled it on first thing the next morning and asked me to button it up. That’s a good sign.
