Have you heard of the One Thimble e-zine? It’s full of fun patterns, tips, and sewing goodness, and for Issue 7 I got to play along by sewing up a version of this super cute Jukebox dress which has both a woven and a knit version that you can mix and match!

Today I’m talking about the Jukebox Duet Everyday dress by Flosstyle. This is a really fun pattern because it has two different options–one for knit and one for woven. It’s such a unique idea. The woven dress is called the Tempo and the knit dress is the Rhythm. Guys, it was such a fun and fast sew. And it would have been even faster had I chosen to do all one piece (which is an option).

I made the Rhythm–with a couple of basic alterations. First, I wanted to use a fun knit Ruffle Fabric, but didn’t want it around the top of the dress and the cowl, so I split the pattern pieces like on the Tempo and used a fun striped knit I found at Pick Your Plum. I love how girly and bold it is.

The only other change I made was to shorten the Jukebox dress to a tunic, but it would be darling in the original dress length as well. I wanted Brynley to wear it with a pair of leggings, but she chose this black skirt, and I really love it together. She definitely has her own sense of style and knows how to rock it.

I would also like to make another version of the Jukebox Dress with a binding instead of the cowl for different options. It’s a comfy top and its been fun to see her play in it and love the ruffles. So go check it out!
